Year 3 and 4 Learning Highlights

The term's Big question was 'Who has changed the world?'- we explored the impact that the following people have had on our modern-day world: William Wilberforce, Elizabeth Fry, Lord Shaftesbury, Emmeline Pankhurst and Winston Churchill. Year 3 reviewed evidence and gave their own opinions of these people and their work. Children read Mulan, then used their knowledge of the narrative to write a persuasive advert as if they were the main characters in the story. We then merged the topic in science and D & T to create a mechanical system that had a lever and linkages. They used the skills and knowledge acquired from the two subjects to make and evaluate a pop-up comic.

Year 4 have been learning about the countryside, how the use of the countryside has changed through the years and about what we can learn from looking at different types of maps. We have been reading Wind in the Willows and put on a fantastic show for children and parents. We are so proud of our wonderful children!
