School Meals & Snacks
Our school meals are provided by Innovate Catering. The menus are updated termly and will appear on this page.
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 (Key Stage 1) are entitled to Universal Free School Meals. This means that they can have a freshly cooked, nutritious meal from a choice of 3 dishes and a dessert every day at school with no charge to parents.
Reception children currently receive a cup of milk daily and Key Stage 1 children receive a piece of fruit daily.
Key Stage two children who are not entitled to free school meals are charged £2.53 per day for school meals.
Parents who receive universal credit can check their entitlement to free school meals via the Slough Borough Council website HERE.
School Meals should be ordered via the Innovate website. Instructions on how to register your child for School Meals can be found in this document. Please note, orders should be made by midnight on a Saturday for the week ahead. You can order up to a term in advance.
Children should all bring a labelled water bottle to school, as well as a healthy snack for break time. Children in EYFS and KS1 are offered a piece of fruit.
Please ensure that your children's pack lunch or snack does not contain any nuts, nut products such as Nutella or Peanut Butter or Sesame Seeds.
Please update the school office if your child develops any food allergies or intolerances so that we can update our records.
Lunchboxes
At The Langley Heritage Primary School, it is part of our responsibility to help our children learn how to eat healthily – this includes what should be included in their lunchboxes or cooked lunches.
Please encourage children to bring in a healthy packed lunch containing no added salt, fat or sugar. Information on what food items we would like to see in your child’s lunchboxes can be found through the following links –

Drinks
We need the children to stay hydrated and so please ensure they bring a named water bottle into school daily. Sugar free squash is permitted but fruit juice and fizzy drinks are not.
Due to the risk of allergies, it is requested that foods containing nuts are NOT brought into school at all, including as part of a packed lunch.
