Year 1 and 2 Learning Highlights
BackThis term our big questions was ‘ How have toys changed over time?’ The children have participated in a circus skills workshop and tried many activities including plate spinning and juggling. As part of this terms DT project the children designed and created their own movable toy. This could include cars, planes, prams, etc. The children really enjoyed this and their end results were amazing!
To end the topic the children performed a toy assembly demonstrating how toys have changed and how we must remember how the toys from the last influenced the toys we have today.
This term Year 2 children have been working extremely hard . They have immersed into the castle world and were privileged to visit the famous The Tower of London. Children discovered its history and had a hands on workshop experience where they learnt how to be a Very Noble Knight. Children had an opportunity to take part in a role play and get an insight into the lives of ordinary people during 19th century. Year 2 students enjoyed performing in the end of year play `The Jungle Book` where they developed their acting, singing and public speaking skills. It has been a pleasure teaching Y2 children and watching them grow in confidence, develop their self esteem and become more mature. We wish them good luck in Y3!
